Wine Down in Ooltewah is a locally owned and operated wine bar and restaurant with the primary focus being wines from around the world with a strong domestic presence. We also offer high-end spirits, high gravity beers, and hand crafted cocktails. In addition, Wine Down offers lunch, dinner, Happy Hour and Sunday brunch including a selection of charcuterie and cheeses both local and international.
With over 2000 sq ft of space, Wine Down represents one of the best wine bar establishments in Chattanooga. Wine Down provides a warm, casual atmosphere that attracts wine drinkers from novice to well-versed.

About the Chef:
From an early age, Chef knew he belonged in the kitchen. From watching his mother and father prepare specially coursed meals for holidays to running his own restaurant, one thing has always been a constant for Garner; The love of food and the sense of family it brings. Marcus Garner, chef/owner of Wine Down Ooltewah and professed wine enthusiast, grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, in a family of food lovers.
With over 20 years in the hospitality industry, Garner has worked just about every position in the restaurant. He found himself gravitating towards the back of the house operations about 15 years ago while watching his closest friends, and well accomplished chefs in the industry create food and inspiration in front of his eyes, drawing an admiration for the art of cuisine.
With no culinary school education, Garner took what he learned from his peers, childhood, along with his creative mindset for culinary arts, and set out to carve his own niche. With southern and European influence and admiration, Chef Garner set out to create his own brand of cuisine with a heavy emphasis on local, regional and classic dishes that his major influences in the business have inspired him with.
Along with his wife and 7-year-old son, Garner made the move to Tennessee where he has family and decided to write their own page in the local cuisine scene of the greater Chattanooga area. With Wine Down being his first endeavor, he plans to continue to humbly make an impression on Southeastern Tennessee food lovers with hopes of expanding his brand in the near future. With accolades in local publishing and a strong local fan base, Garner and the team that surrounds him plan to continue to educate, impress and create a fan base of food and drink that feels like the family he grew up cooking and eating with.
